Impress your friends this wedding season

It’s the time of year again when people are getting hitched. Weddings are one of those events when you want to look natural and fabulous. Usually a wedding involves meeting friends from your past – sort of like a high school reunion. And who doesn’t want to show off at their high school reunion?
So we buy the dress, the shoes, the bag and a new lipstick. Ideally we would like to have a mani/pedi, new highlights, a facial and a full-body detox and a massage to go with it. But there is no time, there is hardly anytime to buy the dress, the shoes and lipstick….
Don’t worry – this is a good thing. A common mistake many make is to go skin care overboard with advanced and harsh treatments just before a big event. Instead of having a radiant complexion you end up with a red, puffy and shiny face which is impossible to cover with makeup.
A far more time efficient and gentle alternative is to do a mini treatment at home. First exfoliate. A good natural exfoliator is a mix of sugar, sunflower oil and a couple of drops of lemon juice. Then if you’ve got the time for a natural face mask, blend avocado and honey and put it on your face for 20 min. On the big day do a quick facial massage. This increases your blood flow and gives you radiant complexion. Also use a good nourishing moisturizer that works well under makeup, for example “My Day”. You will look stunning in a natural and effortless way – a perfect way to impress your high school friends.
