Vitamin A derivatives

Derivatives* of vitamin A are often used in skin care products. They’re effective antioxidants that have many anti-aging properties.

It’s important to note that different derivatives have different effects on the skin. Some can boost your production of collagen. Others increase your skin’s ability to retain water, thus reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. Some may reduce age pigmentation by helping your skin’s own rejuvenation process.

In our personalised creams we use the derivative retinyl palmitate, which is one of the gentler derivatives of vitamin A and mainly known for its antioxidating properties.

*A derivative is the chemical term of a substance that’s created from a similar compound by some chemical or physical process. In laymen terms you can see these compounds as “siblings”.
